Reflections on a pivotal year ~ Predictions of what lies ahead

Reflections:

2022 started on a low-note for me.  Venus was retrograding through Capricorn, which falls in my 2nd House in my Zodiac chart – the house of security, money and values.  The New Year began in heart-break as a promising love affair dissolved.

I was new, then, to my presently favorite craft of Human Design and I was fervently studying everything I could about my Human Design chart in hopes of finding the key to never feeling hurt again.  I made progress…but insecurities with me were long-standing and deep and took a while to unpack.

As a drag queen, I made new acquaintances in the local drag scene – several of whom I now call friends.  More opportunities to perform in drag were offered as well as chances to meet celebrity drag queens I’d admired from tv.

I launched my CartierintheStars.com website and felt thrilled to be introducing myself to the world finally as a person I myself admired and felt proud to be ~ someone innovative and fun, courageous and wise and brave enough to be playful in the face of the World’s woes.

Stepping out as Cartier in the Stars was a culmination of what I’d integrated and learned about being a “Projector” with the 1-8 channel of inspiration in my Human Design chart.  I wanted to simplify my life and no longer be in-the-closet with my creativity and queerness.

By Summer Solstice, this came to a sharp turn In Glastonbury, England in the sacred temples of Avalon.  I could not deny the power I felt sitting by the Chalice Well and diving into the ice-cold pools in the Temple of the White Spring.  I was ready to take my vow as a priestess and to devote my life to the depth-of-being and diverse community of seeking souls I experienced in my visit to Avalon.

Just when I had settled into my identity as drag queen, Cartier, I found myself invited to become someone even more, even deeper.  I belonged to the Chalice Well ~ nothing had ever been clearer to me.  And my eccentric identity as a drag queen was simply a reflection of the transformative magick I felt inside.  I am of that magick!

Returning from this voyage, I again wrestled with my identity – how to stay true to the soul-penetrating power I’d experienced in Glastonbury and yet carry on as the fun-loving drag queen witch I’d branded as my identity and who was the basis of new friendships.

This wrestling birthed a new direction, which is this: Awakening Avalon - my project of devotion to the utopian ideal I tasted in Glastonbury at the Temples of Avalon.  I also began the initiatory training with the International Order of Druids and through it, connected with a community of Druids practicing here in New England.  Upon meeting some of these local Druids for the first time, my instinctual reaction was “this is where I belong!”

Meanwhile, Cartier the Queen found new success offering readings at local Witch Fairs around the State, and with the success – even more new friends!

So, I began 2022 feeling exceptionally unsure of myself and ended it with an abiding feeling of belonging – in the World and to myself and what could be more successful than that?!

Predictions:

We begin 2023 with Mercury retrograding through Capricorn and this retrograde begins with a conjunction of Mercury and Venus – meaning love, relationships and feelings of security and abundance will be up for review.

Mars is also still in retrograde until January 12, though by now, is slowing down to station-direct (which means any unfinished business related to the house through which Mars is retrograding in your Zodiac chart is likely to come up between now and then).

Venus is a powerful player in 2023, as we start the year with her entrance in the sky as the Evening Star, after a period of being “in the Underworld” or simply unseen due to Venus’s proximity to the Sun, which began during the eclipses of this past Autumn.  Venus beginning this year as the Evening Star sets a theme around love – a theme that will come under scrutiny on the 23rd of July when Venus starts a retrograde through the sign of Leo that ends in early September.

Leo is the sign of the Sun – the “hero” of our Zodiac journey - and therefore the house in our chart the sign of Leo occupies has powerful themes over our life’s story.  Thus, this forth-coming retrograde of Venus through Leo will be a pivotal time for each of us in terms of how love intersects our personal story.

Another pivotal passage of 2023 is the entrance of Pluto into the sign of Aquarius.  I did an inspired talk on this topic during the last Mercury retrograde, which is posted on my Cartier_the_Queen Instagram account on September 20 (wearing one of my most iconic wigs no less!)

Pluto only changes signs once in a generation, and entered Capricorn all the way back in 2008.  Pluto will only enter Aquarius as a sort of “preview” of upcoming generational themes and will only enter the sign as far as the first degree of it.  Pluto’s full entrance into Aquarius, the official “Dawning of the Age of Aquarius” comes in 2024.  This is just a “sneak-peak”. But with power-planets like Pluto, even a “sneak-peak” can break-ground onto a whole new plateau of existential wrestling at the collective level.  In Aquarius, that wrestling will be the very concepts that define reality itself.

Saturn enters Pisces in early March and this can make everything feel a little “prickly” as we are called to reconcile how we really feel and to discern emotional imbalances from authentic feelings born of deep faith.

In July, the North Node leaves Taurus behind and enters Aries, meaning the lesson of our soul-journey becomes about trust and about forging ahead with your own path even if it upsets the “status quo” of significant relationships.  It’s “me” time.  But it’s “me” time for your partner as well, keep that in mind.
